Volunteer Requirements

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Jamestown School District! We appreciate our community members who help support our students and schools.

For the safety of all students, all volunteers must complete the following requirements and receive clearance before beginning any volunteer service.

Please complete each step below. LiveScan fingerprint processing may take up to 30 days, so please plan accordingly.


1. Volunteer Interest Survey

Please complete the survey with your contact information and areas of interest.

Once submitted, you will receive additional information regarding the required volunteer steps.


2. TB Assessment

All volunteers must complete a TB Assessment prior to volunteering.

Please note: This is not a TB test. A TB Assessment is a short questionnaire completed by a licensed medical professional.

Drop-in TB Assessment services may be available through the Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools (TCSOS) Office.

3. Mandated Reporter Training

All volunteers working with students are required to complete a free online Mandated Reporter Training course.

A training link will be emailed to you after your Volunteer Interest Survey has been submitted.

4. LiveScan Fingerprinting

All volunteers must complete LiveScan fingerprint clearance before volunteering.

LiveScan results can take up to 30 days to process. Volunteers may not begin service until clearance has been received.

You must print the LiveScan form before your appointment. If you are unable to print the form, please contact the Jamestown School District Office.

Volunteer Approval Process

Once all required items have been completed and clearance has been received, you will be contacted by:

You will then receive confirmation that you are approved to begin volunteering.

FAQ

Q: Do I need to complete these steps every year?

A: LiveScan will not need to be redone, TB is good for 3 years, and Mandated Report will need to be completed yearly

Q: How long does it take to get cleared?

A: It can take a few days to a few weeks depending on fingerprint processing — so apply early!
